The Joint Union of Nasarawa State Tertiary Institutions has embarked on an indefinite strike.
Chairman of the union Comrade Useni Paul announced this at a news briefing after an emergency meeting of the union in Lafia.
Comrade Useni Paul said the strike became necessary after exhausting all avenues to make the state government to address their demands since twenty fifteen.
He enumerated some of the demands by the three tertiary institutions owned by the Nasarawa state government to include non implementation of promotions and annual increments, non implementation of sixty five years retirement age for non teaching staff, and non payment of pension arrears to retired staff of the institution among others.
Comrade Useni Paul called on members of the union to be resolute and remain at home until their demands are met.
