Leicester City are keen to keep hold of Kelechi Iheanacho in the January transfer window, despite reports the club were willing to offload the £25 million striker.
Iheanacho has struggled to make an impact since his big-money move from Manchester City in the summer and had been tipped to leave in the transfer window.
The Nigeria international has made just two Premier League starts this season and was afforded just a 10-minute cameo in the FA Cup draw at Fleetwood, with City boss Claude Puel insisting Iheanacho still had to “improve in all areas”.
Puel has admitted he has too many strikers at the club and is likely to offload at least one before the end of January.
Iheanacho’s national team manager has said he expects the striker to leave while reports in the national media have said Leicester are looking to cut their losses on the 21-year-old.
