A federal lawmaker under the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) has staged an Empowerment Programme for the people of Abeokuta North, Obafemi Owode and Odeda Federal Constituency.

Honourable Mukaila Kazzim, a political disciple of Governor Amosun named his empowerment programme “Farewell to poverty mega empowerment” which was the third in a row by the federal lawmaker for his constituency.

Rescuing accident victims
The highlight of the event was the commissioning of Ambulance with full medical equipment to handle emergency and for rescuing accident victims with first aid.

Cash sums of N20, 000 each to small scale market women selected from major markets within the represented constituencies, Cash sums of N5, 000 to selected aged grassroots people.

10 brand new cars were distributed to party executives within the represented constituencies, 40 motor cycles to party loyalists, 20 double deck refrigerators, 50 units of modern make – up kit boxes to youths who had been previously trained on cosmetology and make up arts.

Honourable Kazzim commended his people for the confidence reposed in him to represent them at the lower chamber. He gave an assurance that he would continue to fulfil his electioneering promises, saying he would make sure the dividend of democracy reach the nooks and crannies of his constituency.

Synergy and cooperation
Wife of Ogun State governor, Mrs Funsho Amosun who expressed delight in the magnitude of grassroots empowerment done by the federal lawmaker called for more synergy and cooperation among politicians holding various public offices.

She added that lack of synergy and cooperation among them is part of the factors delaying dividend of democracy to electorate. Mrs. Amosun explained that the cooperation and synergy is paramount for the progress and development of the society, stressing that the people are anxiously waiting for the fulfilment of electioneering promises.

The First Lady said that if there is cooperation among both the executive and both federal and state legislators, it would automatically ease pressure on the government. She urged other federal lawmakers in the state to emulate Hon Mikky Kazzim in giving back to the people of their various constituencies.

In her own remark, the Deputy Governor, Mrs. Yetunde Onanuga who described the federal lawmaker as a political disciple following the foot steps of the state Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun said the kind gesture would not in small measure help the developmental programmes of the state government.

He therefore commended the empowerment programme, assuring that the present state administration will fulfil it’s campaign promises.

Continue the good work
She described Honourable Kazzim as a student of Governor Amosun’s school of governance, insisting that the federal lawmaker was following the footsteps of the Governor.

To the State’s Assembly Speaker who also doubles as the Chairman of the occassion, the federal lawmaker is a performing and good representative of his people, urging others to emulate him.

All those who spoke included traditional rulers showered praises on the federal lawmaker, urging him to continue the good work he has been doing.

Dignitaries that graced the event, included Deputy Governor, Mrs. Yetunde Onanuga, Wife of the State Governor, Dr. Olufunso Amosun, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Suraj Adekunbi, the Yewa North/Ipokia House of representative member, Hon. Abdul Kabir Akinlade, APC State Chairman, Chief Tajudeen Lemboye and Olu of Owode, Oba Tajudeen Sowemimo among others.
