A middle aged man is now in police net for allegedly killing his wife in Awada area of Anambra State.

The suspect , Sunday Ngwu who hails from Enugu state ,resides at ikwo street , ibollo in Idemili North local government area.

Mr Ngwu allegedly beat his wife Amara Ngwu who is thirty nine years to pulp and then hit her head with a heavy metal which left her unconscious.

The victim was however rushed to Bex hospital where she was confirmed dead on arrival by a medical doctor.

Confirming the incident, the police public relations officer in Anambra state , Mr Haruna Mohammed said police detectives attached to Awada division had arrested the forty one years old suspect.

Mr Mohammed said that the Commissioner of police, Mr Mustapha Dandaura has ordered the immediate transfer of the case to state criminal investigation department, Awka for a discreet invest to ascertain circumstances surrounding the incident.

The corpse of the deceased had been deposited at the mortuary.
