The Lagos State Government has vowed to pull down buildings marked for demolition on Freeman street at the Ita Faji area of Lagos Island.

This came on the heels of the collapse of a three-storey building on March 13, killing about nine people, while about 50 were rescued.

Governor Akinwunmi Ambode who visited the site on wednesday, promised to demolish all illegal school buildings in the area.

He made this known while responding to concerns raised by some residents on the increase in illegal schools in the state.

Meanwhile, Governor Ambode commiserated with families of the deceased and promised to pay the hospital bills of those receiving treatment.
