Immediate past Deputy of Kano state Professor, Hafiz Abubakar has formerly joined the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP.

He finally declared his political status on Tuesday, after tendering his resignation on Sunday. Ten of his Aides also resigned their appointments and defected to the main opposition, the PDP.

Irreconcilable differences
The immediate past Deputy Governor was elected on the platform of the ruling, All Progressives Congress (APC) before tendering his resignation on Sunday afternoon.

Speaking at the Aminu Kano Center for Democratic Research, Mumbayya House, the ex-deputy governor said he “left the All progressive Congress, APC, because of injustice.”

He said he was of high hope that the PDP would give him and his followers, softer grounds in politicking.

Hafiz, in a letter, dated August 1, 2018 to the state governor, Dr. Umar Ganduje cited irreconcilable differences in matters of governance of the state as his major reason for leaving the government.

Germane issues
Hafiz joined the PDP where his political god father, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso defected to from the ruling All Progressive Congress recently.

The 10 members who defected said they had waited for three years for some germane issues to be resolved but remained unsolved up till date.

The Group led by Dr. Abdulahi Chula said they were following the direction in which their political leader, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and Professor Hafiz were going.
