Facebook has held its first Lagos edition of ‘It’s Your Facebook’ pop-up showcase ” aimed at coming face to face with the top officials of the social media platform to address some challenges being faced by the users of the platform in a funfilled atmosphere.
The Lagos edition which was first in Africa came after a successful tour of Europe and the Middle East.
The two-day programme was also aimed at educating users in an informal setting and advise users on the use of the social media space as well as address some burning issues on the use of the platform.
It also created avenue for fun, interactive space and showcased some of Facebook’s most loved products including Stories, Communities and Watch.
Speaking at the forum in Lagos, the , Communications Manager for Sub-Saharan Africa , Mrs Kezia Anim-Addo said Facebook was excited to be in Lagos with ‘It’s Your Facebook’ pop-up experience, which further highlighted their commitment to supporting and investing in communities in Nigeria.
She said they were ready and look forward to hosting people particularly those that registered to attend the three days event .
Our Correspondent reports that Facebook top officials were also present at the Drop-in sesssion urging the public to come down and get advice on their most burning Facebook related questions – whether around protecting their information on Facebook, or getting practical advice on everything from personalizing Newsfeed, to security settings or setting up business pages.
Also a number of training sessions in partnership with Facebook’s local training partners, including Afrinolly, Re:Learn and the Facebook Community Leadership Circle Lagos. This includes free sessions focused on SMBs and building online businesses, building engaging Communities, youth safety online and dedicated workshops for creatives.
