Another building has collapsed on Lagos Island creating panic for some of those living in other buildings suspected to be structurally defective.

The building which is situated on Apatira street just about five structures away from Massey Street in Ita faji area gave-way early yesterday (Saturday).

But the demolition squad of the Lagos state Building Control Agency has knocked down the remaining portion of the building as the pulling down of other marked structures continue in the area.

Some buildings said to be in distress are already being demolished before the collapsed of another structured yesterday.

You will remember that a building housing a school, residential apartments and business facility situated at number sixty three gave way on Wednesday killing no fewer than twenty persons that included some school pupils, a pregnant woman, a set of twins and some residents.

Radio Nigeria learnt that one of the parents of the dead pupils had committed suicide because all his children died in the tragedy.

Meanwhile, more buildings numbering over eighty have been penciled down for demolition.
